Hi!

I always wondered why it is called the terrible 2s.. With our oldest, we're still waiting - he is 9 years old now and was never "terrible". Our daughter started early and is still going strong at 3. Our youngest is inspired I guess and is practising hard already at 18 months...

Pick your fights is probably my best advice. The meanest typhoon can turn into a fresh morning breeze by being allowed to be the decision maker once in a while.

You have a very cute typhoon!

Prepare yourself for more ;) … but you know, in teaching children to behave, parents should not wait for the baby to turn a little bit older. The earlier we teach them, the easier for them to learn. I remember my mother in saying do not let the small ones be the king/queen of you home and do not let kids dominate you. And it is true, we can be loving and gentle parents without spoiling our kids. Sometimes, by ignoring the tantrums or “cute but bitchy” attitude of our kids, we are just helping them to be mischievous and too playful.

So, I actually got a minute at work to read blogs and I saw this post. Man, I don't think I put her growing up into perspective until I read this. She is, in fact, growing up despite all of my secret prayers to keep her from doing so.

And the poncho was the clincher. Who the heck said that she could dress herself?

Honey, don't worry. She will always be our little girl. LOL

I love you. I love that you took the time to write this. I love that you remember. I love that you gave me Samantha even if it was for such a short time. And I love that you love me so much that you wear your heart in the open for me to share in. We are stronger because of our experiences. We are better parents because we know what it is like to lose a child. And we are better friends because we were able to help each other through this. I've told you before but I will say it again, you have truly blessed my life.

You're conclusion is absolutely right - How sad would it be if you left and she wasn't upset. But in the big circle, when she gets older YOU'LL have the quivery lip when She leaves. So enjoy every minute!!

I hated leaving my little girl when I was working too. We moved to the boonies and that's allowed me to be a stay-at-home-mom, but the drawback is that we live in the absolute most remote place on earth! LOL! Both my parents worked and I was just fine, but I know my mom (both dropped off and picked me up) had a tough time with it.
